PartnerRe is to be acquired by Covea for £9bn, and Tokio Marine is to buy GCube. Pool Re completed placement of its £2.4bn retrocession programme with more than 50 international reinsurers. Financials for 2019 included Admiral, Aviva, Direct Line, IGI, Legal & General, Fidelis, Hiscox, Munich Re, and PartnerRe. There were senior appointments at Admiral(Group ceo Stevens is to retire in 12 months), Swiss Re, and Lockton Re.
